Sayanogorsk Museum of Local Lore

The Sayanogorsk Museum of Local Lore was opened on November 6, 2000. The museum fund includes 28,900 pieces of main and secondary collection storage. Some of the exhibits are presented at permanent exhibitions in the Hall of Antiquities and the Hall of Military Glory. In the "Hall of Antiquities" there are several exhibitions that introduce visitors to the Paleolithic era. The display here presents works of stonemasonry, scrapers, cores, punctures, flakes - tools of ancient man's labour, artifacts of the Stone Age discovered at the sites of the Sizaya, Golubaya, and Uy Rivers in an archaeological expedition led by Doctor of Historical Sciences S.N. Astakhov.
